Defense & national security

Mission-driven materials, ready to brief.

Every program below is summarized as a one-page quad chart: the mission need, the technical approach, the plan and the transition path. Programs are ordered by Technology Readiness Level, so you can see at a glance what is fielded today and what is still in research.

13defense programs with quad charts
28government & prime contracts since 2009
4capabilities at TRL 7–9

How to read a quad chart

Four boxes. One program story.

A program manager should be able to understand the problem, the approach, the plan and the path to transition without opening a long deck. Each chart on this page follows the same four-part layout.

1OverviewThe mission need, and why this approach matters.
2Technical approachWhat the material, coating or optical system actually does.
3Program tasksThe work that moves the capability toward field use.
4Partners & transitionWho is involved, current status and where it goes next.

Capability library

Organized by readiness.

Programs are ordered from most mature to earliest-stage. Each card shows its TRL on a nine-step scale. Click any card to open the full quad chart.

TRL 7–9

Mature & fielded

Demonstrated in an operational environment, qualified, or already in use.

TRL 4–6

Validated & demonstrated

Validated in the lab or in a relevant environment, with prototypes built and tested.

TRL 1–3

Applied research

Concept and proof-of-principle work, open to partners who want to shape the requirement.

Past performance

Government & defense contracts.

Funded programs with the Army, Air Force, OSD, SOCOM, DARPA, the intelligence community and federal health agencies, covering materials development, sensing, diagnostics, signature management, authentication and armaments.

Work with IMS

Start with the mission requirement.

Tell us what the system needs to identify, detect, convert, protect or measure. We work backward from the requirement to the material, the integration method and the optical readout.
