Defend and Track

Intelligent Material Solutions develops defense applications based on patented crystals. Specialty optical coatings and field diagnostics are deployable in a diverse array of military and defense Concept of Operations (CONOPS), including biological and chemical warfare detection.

Applications include Identification of Friend or Foe (IFF), Tag-Track-Locate (TTL), assays for biological and chemical warfare detection, and non-incendiary tracer technologies.

Platform: 

  • The core IMS technology – Intelligent Material® – comprise rare-earth doped oxide, sulfide, or halide crystals that emit unique infrared and visible fingerprints when illuminated by very specific laser sources. Combining various types of Intelligent Material®  within polymer powders, inks, sprays, or other form factors creates unique covert or overt spectral signatures capable of being remotely detected with IMS’s laser/detector sensor systems.

  • IMS technology provides superior performance, covertness, and stability in the field, and diversity of use over current passive and active tags. 

  • We have successfully applied our Intelligent Material® into a variety of form factors and delivery platforms inks, fibers, spray cans, powder coatings, paintballs, tagging grenades, fuel additives, chemical, and  biological sensors, etc.

  • Unique luminescent IR optical barcodes using Intelligent Material® can be incorporated into uniforms, badges, buttons, textiles, adhesives, paints, inks and coatings.

  • The inert crystals can withstand extreme temperature ranges and moisture without losing their optical properties.
